The GAS Refinery Gas Analyser (RGA) provides a comprehensive and reliable solution for refinery gas analysis across a wide range of process, fuel, recycle, and liquefied gas streams. Accurate refinery gas composition data is essential for process optimisation, fuel quality control, environmental compliance, and safe plant operation. Designed around proven gas chromatography technology, the analyser delivers fast and precise measurements of hydrogen, permanent gases, hydrocarbons, and optional sulphur compounds in demanding refinery environments.
The system utilizes three independent analytical channels dedicated to hydrogen, permanent gases, and hydrocarbon analysis, ensuring optimal separation performance and analytical accuracy. Micropacked columns mounted within a heated valve oven provide efficient isothermal operation with low carrier gas consumption, while capillary columns installed in a programmable oven enable rapid and detailed hydrocarbon analysis. Optional fourth-channel configurations can be added for ultra-low sulphur analysis, ppb-level permanent gas measurements, high-purity gas analysis, or enhanced hydrocarbon characterization.
The analyser incorporates Thermo GC1600 technology with dual InstantConnect Thermal Conductivity Detectors (TCDs), Flame Ionisation Detection (FID), and an external valve oven containing five valves, six packed columns, and two capillary columns. Sulfinert®-treated tubing throughout the sample path ensures accurate sulphur analysis and minimizes adsorption effects. Robust diaphragm valves and InstantConnect detector modules provide exceptional reliability, delivering greater than 99% uptime while minimizing maintenance requirements.
Integrated Chromeleon CDS software enables automated operation, advanced data processing, and comprehensive reporting. Optional vaporisers and liquid sampling valves allow accurate analysis of liquefied gases such as LPG, propane, and butane. With its modular architecture, fast analysis cycles, and extensive standards compliance, the GAS Refinery Gas Analyser is ideally suited for refinery laboratories, petrochemical facilities, and process monitoring applications.
