The GAS Biogas Analyser (ER315) is a high-performance gas chromatography system specifically developed for comprehensive biogas composition analysis in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, and biomethane production applications. As biogas becomes an increasingly important energy source, accurate monitoring of its composition is essential for process optimization, equipment protection, energy valuation, and compliance with grid injection specifications.
The analyser is based on proven CompactGC4.0 gas chromatography technology and provides reliable measurement of methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), hydrogen (H₂), oxygen (O₂), nitrogen (N₂), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), carbonyl sulphide (COS), and light hydrocarbons. Depending on application requirements, the system can be configured for additional analysis of trace sulphur compounds, siloxanes, terpenes, ammonia, and volatile organic compounds using specialized detector technologies.
The ER315 utilizes a Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD) combined with three micro-packed chromatographic columns and a heated valve oven to achieve accurate separation and quantification of key biogas components. The analytical configuration ensures excellent repeatability, reliable long-term performance, and low maintenance requirements while maintaining a compact 19-inch footprint suitable for laboratory and process environments.
For energy applications, the analyser supports automatic calculation of calorific value, Wobbe index, density, and compression factor according to ISO 6976. This allows operators to accurately determine the energy content and quality of biogas and biomethane streams.
Built with robust diaphragm valve technology, independently heated valve ovens, and the Chromeleon® Chromatography Data System (CDS), the system delivers high uptime, excellent data integrity, and simplified operation. Its modular design enables custom configurations ranging from routine biogas composition monitoring to advanced multi-channel trace contaminant analysis.
Designed to comply with major international gas analysis standards, the GAS Biogas Analyser provides a reliable and future-proof solution for renewable gas producers, laboratories, utility companies, and environmental monitoring organizations.
