Accurate measurement of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide is essential in petrochemical, hydrogen, and industrial gas applications. Even trace levels of CO and CO2 can drastically impact product quality, catalyst performance, and overall process efficiency. Reliable and sensitive analysis is therefore critical for both process control and final product certification.
The GAS CO-CO2 Analyser is a customised, high-precision solution designed specifically to address these challenges. Operating on the principle of methaniser-FID technology, the instrument integrates a high-performance diaphragm valve for injection and back-flushing, two packed columns, a methaniser, and a Flame Ionisation Detector (FID). During operation, the first column (Hayesep) separates the components of interest from the bulk gas—which is then effectively removed via back-flushing—while the second column further separates the target components. The methaniser converts any present CO and CO2 into methane, allowing the FID to accurately and selectively detect these impurities at sub-ppm levels.
With a fast runtime of just 4.5 minutes, the system achieves a minimum detectability of less than 50 ppb and a remarkable repeatability of < 1% RSD. Built for long-term stability and high uptime, the analyser requires reduced maintenance and provides a robust solution for securing process efficiency and catalyst protection.
